Preschool
Children can be accepted for the Preschool Class from the age of 3 years.
The date your child can start Nursery depends on your child’s birthday as detailed below:
Child’s birthday 1 January to 31 March child can start the beginning of term on or after 1 April
Child’s birthday 1 April to 31 August child can start beginning of term on or after 1 September
Child’s birthday 1 September to 31 December child can start beginning of term on or after 1 January
Having accepted the offer of a place parents are invited to a meeting to be given full information about the aims and organisation of the Preschool. Parents are very welcome to seek clarification of any issue concerning the Preschool at any time. Visits are also most welcome by prior arrangement, such a visit will reassure you of the high quality provision of the Preschool.

Entry to the Preschool does not guarantee entry into the Reception class as the admission policy of Bristol needs to be applied.

The academy has an admission number of 90 pupils. Accordingly, the academy will provide for the admission of 90 pupils to reception if sufficient applications for entry are received. Where fewer than the published admission number for the relevant year groups is received, the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) will offer places at Begbrook Primary Academy to all those who have applied.

Consultation on the Draft Admissions Policy for Begbrook Primary Academy 2027-28
Admissions authorities are required to consult on their admission arrangements whenever a change to the arrangements are proposed, or if no changes are proposed, every 7 years. As such the Cabot Learning Federation is consulting on the admissions arrangements for Begbrook Primary Academy, for students joining from September 2027.
The consultation period will run from 19 December 2025 to 31 January 2026
Begbrook Primary Academy is a Primary Academy with Nursery provision. The academy is consulting as they are implementing a new admissions policy for students joining from September 2027.
