Term 4, Week 6 – Online Safety

Online Safety

This week, we talked to the children about Online Safety.
With the holidays nearing, a lot of our children will be spending more time online, so we want to help them to understand the importance of:
Contacts and Interactions

Each day we asked the children some questions:
- What should I do if someone (who I don’t know) tries to talk to me online?
- How do we communicate appropriately online?
- How do we respond if someone is not appropriate?
- How can we practice positive relationships online?
- How can bullying happen online?
- What are the risks of online chats, gaming, or talking to strangers?
- How can I report concerns?
- What are the benefits and issues with online gaming and chat sites?
- How can I tell if someone online (or an AI chatbot) might not be real?
- How do I respond safely?
The children gave us some amazing answers – please ask them to tell you some.
