Online Safety

This week, we have been talking to children about how to be a Begbrook citizen online – ahead of the half term holiday where children likely to spend an increased amount of time on the internet.

EYFS

In our Preschool and Reception classes, we have been talking to children about what they do on iPads, tablets, laptops etc. We then talked about what they would do if they saw something that made them feel sad or worried (5 safe adults, safeguarding team etc).

KS1

In Year 1 and Year 2, we have been talking to children about how we can demonstrate our Begbrook values online. We also reminded them about our SMART rules for keeping safe online:

KS2

In Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6, we facilitated discussion about how they can demonstrate about Begbrook values online. We then used this information to complete our online safety agreement. In Friday’s safeguarding weekly theme session, all children signed a copy of the online safety agreement. We will use this agreement to support any child on child incidents online over the coming year.
